Staring at a computer screen for hours on end won’t rot your brain — if you get enough exercise. A recent Mayo Clinic survey of nearly 1,000 people between the ages of 70 and 93 showed computer use combined with regular exercise actually keeps the brain sharper than just exercise or computer use alone.
“36% were cognitively normal, while only 18& had MCI,” reported the Atlantic. The group that said they neither exercise nor use a computer showed greater decline of cognitive abilities with 20% having normal cognition, and almost 37% having mild cognitive impairment.
